If you instruct me directly under the Public Access scheme, this is the procedure from first contact to advice.

We meet briefly online to assess whether your case is suitable for Direct Access — whether I am suitably expert, and have the time to help, given other commitments.
If the work involves substantial conduct of litigation, or examination of accounts or documents, I may recommend that solicitors or accountants also be instructed.
I will define the work to be done, the terms of engagement and the fee required — in writing, before work begins.
We will meet online, or in person at my office in Leeds, York or London. Home visits are possible — I do not discriminate against people with disabilities, but will charge travel expenses.
I will confirm any advice given in writing, and discuss any further work required.
Wills typically require two discussions: first, to ascertain your wishes and advise on possible solutions; second, to discuss the draft will, and whether further work with accountants is required.
